In the depths of self, a crisis unfolds, Trying to be me, in a world so cold. Shackles unseen, emotions entwined, The quest for identity, a complex bind.

Visually striving, or in others’ gaze I dwell, Yearning for approval, the tales we tell. In codependency’s web, we often sway, Losing ourselves in the games we play.

Conformity’s grip, concepts tightly held, Within its clutches, our essence quelled. Yet, beneath the layers, a truth resides, A beautiful being, in ourselves it hides.

In the mirror’s reflection, a glimpse we find, The me we seek, so loving and kind. Breaking the chains of judgment’s decree, Embracing our essence, at last, we’re free.
